CLUB UPDATE - MONDAY 30TH MARCH 2020

Dear Members

Over the last few weeks, we along with all clubs have been in contact with Football Brisbane and Football Queensland for information and updates about the 2020 season.

Currently the advice from FB and FQ is that they are committed to achieving a 2020 Home and Away season, but in what format this will be is still being determined in consultation with all associated clubs.

Unfortunately we, at this time are unable to give any definitive answers. The continued evolving situation with COVID-19 provides unstable times within all sectors including football.

What this means to our Club:

*  Continued suspension of all training and games.

*  Cancellation of all functions and events held at our grounds.

Obviously, both of these have significant impact on our club which we are working through.

At this time, de-registrations and refunds can not be granted due to FB and FQ’a commitment to complete a 2020 season. Should this change we will revise our position on this.

We appreciate that everyone is living in an uncertain time but the clubs season expenses started in December of last year when teams commenced training.

At this stage, the Football suspension date is still at 14th April, with the view to recommence from 1st of May. Our facilities at Bundamba and Ebbw Vale will receive a sanitising clean prior to any return and use.

We ask for your patience while we continue to take direction from our Governing Bodies and the Australian Government and be assured we will update you as soon as possible by email, Facebook and our Website.

Below is links to FB and FQ and their direct updates on the current affects to clubs and players.

Club Update

CLUB UPDATE - Tuesday 17th March 2020

COVID-19

FFA and Football Queensland have announced this afternoon that all Football activity is to be suspended effective 12am Wednesday 18th March until 14th April 2020 as per the attached FFA release. This includes all competition games and training.

Upon receiving this advice from our governing bodies, Ipswich Knights FC supports and will enact these decisions.

How this affects our club:

All training and games are to cease immediately to allow accurate assessment and action of the current Health Alert affecting all communities.

No team training is to occur during this period of suspension for the safety of all players, club volunteers and their families which in turn also assists with minimising the spread of this virus.

In addition to this suspension of football activity, we are making arrangements to undergo deep sanitising cleans of both Ebbw Vale and Bundamba facilities.

We will be in contact with our team coach and managers to provide updates and further advice on additional controls being undertaken from the club.

Please be assured that we will provide club updates on social media and by email to our members and will continue to be guided by the Australian Government and FFA.

Once again for information, we urge you to visit www.health.gov.au for up to date information regarding the health alert. Please consult your health professional for any personal questions you may have for you or your families own health concerns.
